Gameplay Overview

Pokémon Blue Version follows the same captivating storyline as Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, starting in the Kanto region's Pallet Town. Players assume the role of a young Pokémon Trainer who receives their first Pokémon from the renowned Professor Oak. As is traditional, players can choose between three iconic starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Each of these Pokémon offers unique advantages and challenges, setting the stage for the adventure ahead.

Once players choose their starter Pokémon, they set off on a journey through the Kanto region, battling other trainers, capturing wild Pokémon, and taking on the nefarious Team Rocket. Throughout the game, players will encounter and challenge the eight Kanto Gym Leaders—Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, and Giovanni—each of whom specializes in a specific type of Pokémon. Defeating these Gym Leaders is crucial to progressing in the game and earning the right to challenge the Elite Four.
